As Western Australia’s leading independent teaching and learning community for young musicians we offer Perth drum lessons for kids and teenagers of all abilities and we specialise in rock, blues and contemporary styles.
We will teach you basic drumming rudiments and beats before moving on to more complex patterns and helping you to develop the limb independence which is crucial for great drumming. Our drum lessons are taught from our comfortable fully equipped studios in Osborne Park where both electric and acoustic drum kits are available to use and there are no neighbours to disturb so we can make some noise.
Drum lessons for kids
If you’re looking for drum lessons for kids, no matter what your level of playing we will get you behind a real drum kit from the very first lesson. Our easy method of tuition is very hands on and uses a variety of rock and pop songs to guide you through the learning process. We focus on practical performance, not theory, and our aim is to develop your playing skills as quickly as possible. Our drum lessons are fun and informal and you will get to play along to classic and contemporary rock and pop songs while you learn.
All of our drum teachers are talented, approachable and passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with their students. They’re not just great teachers, they are all working musicians playing regularly in their own bands. Once you start drum lessons at Rock Scholars you will learn with the same teacher each week. This means your teacher can work with you to understand your musical goals and tailor a lesson plan just for you. This is the great advantage of one on one tuition – you can form a working relationship with your teacher and develop at your own pace.
Rock Scholars offers more than just drum lessons, it is a thriving community of young musicians and home to some of Perth's most promising bands. From The Garage to Greatness, the journey starts here!
Drum lessons cost $35 per half hour session.
